Top Movies of 2018

All rankings are strictly based on my opinion. If a 2018 film is not listed here it simply means I have not yet seen it. I am now considering Netflix original films among the movies that I see theatrically from now on when considering my ranking of the year’s films. There are certain inclusions on this list (Brain on Fire, for instance) that were shown at film festivals prior to 2018, but as its wide distribution was this year I will still count it as a 2018 release.

This is strictly my personal ranking and is obviously highly subjective. Games will be added as they are beaten or as they are played enough for me to have formed a concrete opinion of them. Remastered games or ports are excluded from the year’s rankings, only true new releases are counted. Typically I would not take a hard look at a mobile game, but Florence was a rare exception this year.

For this initial list, I have decided to exclude remastered games or ports, so games such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will not be counted on my list for the year. Games will be added as they are beaten or as they are played at least enough for me to have a solid opinion. If I quickly decide a game is not for me and I stop playing it, chances are I will just leave it off my list.
